but their not selling it as a riding western horse. they’re selling it as a dual purpose driving horse. Also did u notice when he was crwling underneath him? he’s selling to the crowd that his horse behaves well and tolerates anything. In a work horse you want that, not some retarded ditzy animal. Its important to show how well behaved they are at sale to get the highest bid for them.

Because it’s a DRIVING horse, not a riding one (though you obviously could ride that gorgeous fella!)

This was primarily a auction selling alot a horses from a Amish community as Harley Troyer was Amish and speaks Dutch very well so he has strong ties with that community. The reason you see kids on this horse with no gear is they are trying to show how broke these horses are at auction to the crowd and let me tell you the Amish have some of the most broke horses I have ever seen! I am also amazed at how well there kids can ride horses compared to most adults.

    K…

But using a Wester Saddle or something would’ve been equally effective. BUT THAT’S JUST ME :)

This auction caters to people looking for driving horses. Some of the sellers will put their kids on the horses to show how well trained and safe the horses are.

Wait… why are they using DRIVING gear? I mean, I understand that the kids may have no control over the horse…but why not use a halter or something?

    Explain plz.
