Your brother does realize that drafts are more expensive in upkeep, farrier work is double, feeding is double etc

Love just doesn’t pay the bills at times.

Hey there… just a suggestion: If you are looking for draft horses, why don’t you go look for PMU Rescues… Most of the horses offered there are quarter horses or draft horses. Just thought it would be a good idea since you have the experience to handle young and unbroke horses. These horses are beautiful! And you’d also be giving them a chance so that they don’t end up in auctions….
    Good luck in your search….

As Mulereiner said, drafts are more expensive. My Friesian/Percheron is barefoot, but if he were shod, each INDIVIDUAL shoe ALONE would have been $125. Just keep that in mind.
Try dreamhorse.com, equine.com, or if you want to take on that responsibilty, rescues.

Where are you located? My trainer is selling my baby(ok, he’s like 12yrs) Percheron for around $7000. He’s a top walk trot canter undersaddle and him and his half brother(who she has, but is keeping) were on the world class driving team. He’s big, black and the calmest horse I have ever met. We got on im ******** on a lunge line (no reins) and he was awesome, though bored! He’s a big guy though. I’m 5′4” and am nowhere near his withers! She’s near Stillwater, MN.
    Otherwise check out dreamhorse.com

As others have suggested try local rescue organizations. Also try dreamhorse.com, equine.com, horsetopia.com These are all sale websites where you can search by location breed and price.
