Well, I know abuse and neglect need to end. But, the ways they actually slaughter horses is horrible.

You’re right, it’s not been banned in other countries because it’s stupid. It would be like banning euthanization of stray dogs and cats; they’re animals no one wants or needs so the only humane thing is to put them down. Having hundreds of thousands of excess dogs running around wouldn’t be ideal and neither is having horse stock that has no utility.

You’re an idiot. The slaugher of equine has been banned for years in this country. And youre doubly an idiot because theres nothing wrong with horse slaughter. Horses aren’t teddy bears or pets, they’re animals, not unlike beefs or pigs - though clearly more intelligent. Now when you go to auction it’s littered with poor stock - they just keep getting sold and resold because many are no good. It’s only gonna get worse. Hows sending bad stock back and forth to auction any better. Its just a pain.

And yet in addition to the horse slaughter, you have disgusting bloodsports like bullfighting and lax animal cruelty laws that are basically a slap on the wrist… And I didn’t know about the bible saying that only animals with a cloven hoof may be eaten… so i guess most of europe, mexico, canada and other countries were horses can be slaughtered are being left behind then…

NO its why TRANSPORT regulations must be better enforced. They don’t give these ‘doomed’ horses rest or food or even WATER in these horrible double decker trailers. Would the transport of even a human as worthless as BTK or Manson, ever be so careless? Would the wardens not be chastised if prisoners left a facility with two feet and arrived at their destination with only one foot–hooves often get caught in the holes and are subsequently ripped off at the fetlock from all the trampling, panic

yes it is but, there are still 2 remaining houses in US cause the public voted to keep them. Now the horses have even longer trips to Mexico and Canada
